Edward H. Berg, 93, of Parsippany, New Jersey went to be with the Lord, August 20, 2024. He was born on November 28, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York to Elizabeth (Licht) and Arthur Braedt. He studied violin at an early age which led to an outstanding career as a jazz guitarist, traveling the world with harpist, Daphne Hellman, visiting clubs in France, India, Sri Lanka, Singapore and Australia. Hellman's Angels made several recordings and were regular jazz musicians at "The Village Gate" in New York City for nearly thirty years. He authored a guitar patterns book and was a professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University for nine years.

Before embarking on his musical career, he joined the Marine Corps Reserve (1948) and served in the Korean War (1950). In 1955, he married his wife of 69 years, Irene Giblock and together they raised three children, Irene, Eddie and Kathy.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Helen Lima and Eleanor Braedt. He is survived by his loving wife, Irene Giblock Berg; his children, Irene (Berg) Fuller and Carl Finch, Edward A. Berg and Robin Wade, Kathleen (Berg) Savedow and Erik Emsing; his grandchildren, Janell, Elizabeth and Tori-Ann and his great-grandchildren, Feonia, Charlotte, Dominic, Braden, Corbin and Noah.

A graveside service will be performed at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, NJ. at a later date.

Uncle Eddie, You were a kind, smart, gentle man, with a kean wit and amzing fingers, the way you could play that jazz guitar with ease. You inspired me and my brothers to play guitar. You will be sorely missed. God Speed Uncle Eddie.
