Wallace Lee Thomas

of Little Rock, AR

July 17, 1954 - August 5, 2024

Wallace Lee Thomas passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024 at his home in Little Rock, Arkansas. Wallace was predeceased by his parents, Wallace Boyd Thomas and Barbara Lyon Thomas. He is survived by his son, Austin Thomas and Austin's fiancé, Avery Rotenberry of Fayetteville, Arkansas; his brother, Richard Thomas and his wife, Nelly of Atlanta, Georgia; his sister, Becky Adcock and her husband, Jon of Pearland, Texas; his partner, Janelle Kelterborn of Fayetteville, Arkansas and his beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Jaxon.

Wallace was born in Temple, Texas in 1954 and would later receive a BA in Art with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 1976. It was during this time that many of his greatest passions in life would begin to take hold. Wallace went on to become a talented estimator and project manager. With many years of experience in the construction industry, Wallace proudly served as the general manager of Township Builders, Inc for the last ten years. He was known for his unwavering work ethic and unique attention to detail by both his coworkers and peers and participated in many notable civil construction projects across the region.

Wallace had an unparalleled love of music which resonated throughout his life, spanning a wide range of genres and styles. He enjoyed traveling to see many of his favorite artists, in addition to building an impressive catalog of music at home. This music was often channeled through his expressive paintings and drawings, a skill which he originally learned from his father as a child.

Wallace was also an accomplished cyclist and named the Arkansas State Road Race and Time Trials champion multiple times. As an avid rider all of his life, he carried a deep love for the sport and found freedom, purpose and exploration behind the bars of a bicycle. His love of cycling and zest for life on two wheels will be remembered as a true reflection of his soul.

A memorial service for Wallace will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to Pedal It Forward, a non-profit, fulfilling the mission of increasing the number of people who have access to bikes for health, transportation and recreation.
