Margaret Williams Carnes, 56, of Marianna, Arkansas passed away peacefully August 5, 2024, in Little Rock, Arkansas surrounded by family. She was born August 25, 1967, to L.C. and Bessie Williams.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Carnes; of the home, one son, Jonathon Carnes; of the home, three sisters, Shirley Carroll, of Palestine, Arkansas, Sandra Casey (Randy), of Senatobia, Mississippi, Carol Flahrity (Charles), of Marianna, Arkansas; four brothers, Ronnie Williams (Theresa), of Donaldsonville, LA, Wyley Williams (Gail),of Hughes, Arkansas, Jimmy Williams (Wanda), and Bobby Williams (Pam), all of Marianna, Arkansas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, L.C. Williams and Bessie Williams; three brothers, Danny Williams, David Williams, Larry Williams, and one sister, Ruby Dunnington.
Margaret was a career nurse whose career spanned more than three decades. While in high school, she knew that her passion was to help others, and she realized that becoming a registered nurse was the best way to fulfill that dream. She graduated from the nursing program at Phillips Community College in Helena, AR, in 1987, Margaret began her nursing career by initially working at the Baptist Hospital in Forrest City, Arkansas. In 1989, she became an Arkansas state employee working in the home health department as a registered nurse. She retired from the state of Arkansas in 2018 with 29 years of service. In 2018, she began working for Kindred Healthcare as a branch manager nurse with managerial responsibilities. She retired from this position in 2023. Margaret's career as a registered nurse spanned more than 3 decades doing what she loved the most which was helping people. Some of her hobbies consisted of decorating flower arrangements. She loved creating art with diamond painting. She said that she always loved to cook. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her husband nicknamed her ''Angel'' because of her loving, kind character.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Williams, Bobby Williams, Wyley Williams, Charles Hudnall, Randy Casey, and Ned Webb.
Visitation for Mrs. Margaret Carnes will be held Friday, August 9, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna, Arkansas with Brother Mike Holcomb officiating. Burial will follow services at Marianna Memorial Park. Roller-Citizens Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Dennis, I'm so sorry! I didn't know until today! She had so much love for everyone but especially you and Jonathon, you'll were her heart! My love and prayers are with you'll!

Margaret was a brilliant and an amazing woman. I worked with her at the Arkansas Department of Health, I enjoyed every minute working side by side with her. I am praying for peace and comfort for her family.

I worked with Margaret in Lee County at the Health Department. I just found this out. I am so sorry for your loss. Margaret was a coworker and my friend. Praying for all of you during this time.

Margaret was such a loving, giving and caring person. She was by the book and loved everyone so dearly. She would give her all to anyone in need. She was my friend and I learned so much from her all the years I worked with her at the Health Dept. We had many good laughs and good times together. My heart is broken and I will miss her. My prayers are with all her family and especially for you Dennis and Jonathon you both were her heart — it’s so hard to lose such an amazing person in your lives. May God bring the peace and comfort that only He can give during a time like this. My deepest sympathy.
