Bonnie Faye Pettie, age 83, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024 with her loving husband by her side at home in Marvell, Arkansas. She was born on Tuesday, November 12, 1940 in Oxford, Mississippi to the late William A. Metts and Myrtice Littlejohn Metts.
Bonnie was a member of Twin City Church of Christ in West Helena, Arkansas where she taught Bible class for many years. She especially loved her nursery class. She worked for the Marvell School District for thirty-three years as the Elementary Secretary.
Bonnie is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Curtis Pettie; son, Mike Pettie of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter, Susan Houston of Memphis, Tennessee; grandson, Phillip Houston (Carley) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; two sisters, Bettye Sims of Harleyville, South Carolina and Paula Walsh of Summerville, South Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends.
The family would like to give thanks to Elite Hospice and their staff. A special thanks to care givers Cecilia Smith, Joyce Mitchell and Tiffany Lawrence.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the Twin City Church of Christ in West Helena, Arkansas. Visitation will be held prior at 10:00 a.m.
