December 12, 1957 - August 6, 2024

Patricia Lee Gamelin passed away on August 6, 2024 at the age of 72 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Born on December 12, 1951 in Forest Lake, Minnesota she was the daughter of the late Milton and Donna (Waite) Gamelin. Her life was marked by a dedication to service, evident in her 30-year tenure with the IRS and a deep commitment to her community and family.

Patricia graduated from Hinsdale South High School in 1970 and attended Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois. Her career was distinguished by her dedication and integrity, traits that defined her both professionally and personally.

A long time member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Patricia's faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through her life's endeavors and challenges.

Patricia's passions included gardening and quilting. She cherished her garden, especially the azaleas she nurtured with great care. Inspired by a longtime friend, she took up quilting, crafting beautiful quilts that became treasured gifts for her loved ones.

Her family remembers her as a loving and devoted sister, aunt and stepmother. She is survived by her brother, Jerry Gamelin (Elizabeth); sister, Connie Gamelin; nephews, Joe and Brandon Gamelin; nieces, Emily Gamelin and Gillian Schweighardt and stepdaughters, Tiffany Buckels, Brittany Buckels and Lacie Buckles-Bruick along with their families. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Rodger Buckels and her two beloved Pug dogs, Susie Q and Peggy Sue.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 17, 2024, in the fellowship hall at the First Presbyterian Church in Mountain Home.

I worked with Patricia for many years, she was actually my supervisor when I retired. Patricia was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor. I will really miss her.

Death is not extinguishing the light. It is putting out the lamp because the dawn has come. Remembering my cousins Jerry and Connie and their extended families as they remember Patty.

What a true blessing Patty's life has been. All those who were fortunate enough to know her, can look back and see how much better our lives were simply by having her in it. She will be missed and thought of often. My prayers go out to all of her family and friends.
