Loy Ralph Sutterfield, 93, of Mountain View, Arkansas left this world on August 2, 2024 and awoke in the arms of his Savior. He was born to the late Harvey and Pearl (Bradford) Sutterfield on June 14, 1931 at Mozart, Arkansas.
Loy served his country in the Army during the Korean War as a machine gun operator. Three years after the war had ended, he married the love of his life, Carol Foster on July 28, 1956 in Pekin, Illinois. Loy served as pastor of Abundant Life Full Gospel Church for over 40 years. He loved doing yard work and landscaping. Loy enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He was the biggest St. Louis Cardinal's fan and a huge fan of the Fighting Illini and of course, the Arkansas Razorbacks. His most favorite thing of all was family and teasing all of his nieces and nephews, children and grandchildren.
Loy is survived by his children, Rachel (Michael) Hedrick, LaDella Myers, Loy David (Kelley) Sutterfield, Curtis (Brandy) Sutterfield and Marletta (Lee) Mangham; godchildren, Cheryl (Nelson) Nickell, Rene (Brian) Pennington, Terence (Tanya) Sutterfield, Tina (Jamey) Holland; siblings, Herman, Coy (Shirley), Lawson (Glenda), Lois (Clarence); grandchildren, James, Matthew (Roberta), Dariel (Patti), Loy (Amy), Larissa (Erick), TJ (Brandy), Majesta, Marie, Danielle, Abigail and Ethan; eleven great-grandchildren, Lauren, Katelyn, Alexander (Amanda Hedrick Tripp), AJ, Gabriela, Connor, Peyton, Pheonyx, Ridglyn, Kylin, Nolan; two great-great grandchildren and a gang of nieces and nephews.
Loy is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Pearl Sutterfield; wife, Carol (Foster) Sutterfield; brothers, Orbin Sutterfield, Clifford Sutterfield; sister, LuVern Sutterfield and goddaughter, Velta Sutterfield Lovil.
Pallbearers are James, Matthew, Loy, TJ, Ethan, Alexander and Connor.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dalton and Zachary.
Visitation is being held at Fox Assembly of God Church in Fox, Arkansas on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 6:00PM-8:00PM, the family request everyone wear a Arkansas Razorbacks or St. Louis Cardinals T-Shirt.
A small visitation will be at Fox Assembly of God Church in Fox, Arkansas on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 10:30 AM. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00AM and an interment will be held at Fox Cemetery. Ministers will be Reverend Stanley Sutterfield, Reverend Marvin Sutterfield and Reverend Terence Sutterfield.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
