John Michael ''Mike'' Deckelman, age 74, went home to be with Christ on Friday, July 26, 2024 in Helena, Arkansas. Mike was born Sunday, July 2, 1950 to the late John and Lillian Deckelman at the Helena Regional Hospital in Helena, Arkansas. He grew up in Wabash and loved being part of that small close knit community. Singing was something that Mike loved to do and sang in the choir at Wabash Federated Church and then later as part of Elaine United Methodist Church. He graduated from Elaine High School and served several years in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Sergeant.
Mike came home to Elaine to live and work among the people about whom he cared.

The last 8 plus years of his life he resided at Crestpark Helena where they took great care of him.

He is survived by his sister and brother in law, Mary Martha and Kyle Howell in Augusta, Georgia; nephew Jonathan Howell, wife Katie; their two children, John DeCamp (Camp) and Savannah Howell of Charleston, South Carolina; niece Brooke Steele, husband Gary; their three children Kyson, Hudson, and Camden Steele of Augusta, Georgia.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillian Deckelman.

A Funeral service for John ''Mike'' Deckelman will be held 2:00p.m., Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in West Helena, Arkansas.
