of Conway, AR
January 25, 1951 - July 26, 2024
Richard Clark Faulkner, Sr, 73 years of age, of Conway. AR passed away due to complications from Dementia on 7/26/24. He was born on 1/25/1951 to the late BJ and Cecile Faulkner.
He grew up in Little Rock, AR and was known as ''Dickie Faulkner'' to most and was a 1969 graduate of Central High School. He was President of his senior class at Central and excelled on the football field as the quarterback. Richard went on to continue his sports career playing football and baseball at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia. He married his bride of 50 years, Brenda Aylett of Nashville, AR and they raised two children in Little Rock, AR. He most recently retired from working in Fayetteville, AR with Scurlock Industries and settled in Conway to be closer to family.
Richard's happy place was always being outdoors on a deer stand, duck blind or with a fishing pole in hand and was able to teach his kids and his grandkids how to hunt and fish back on the Aylett farm in Nashville. He enjoyed going to all of his kids and grandkids events whether it be dancing recitals, baseball, softball, football and volleyball games. He was always there to play catch in the backyard, throw a football, never missed a practice or a game and was the best lifelong coach there ever was. He was also a fierce competitor not only on the football field but loved playing Spade's, Bridge and Dominoes with the family. His smile was contagious, he truly had the gift of being an animal or baby whisperer and he never ceased to make you laugh.
Richard never forgot a name or a face and made the best set of lifelong friends (Jim May, Rodney Herndon, Tim Stuthard, Jerry Carlisle, Rick Abbott, Steve Moore and Robbie Moore) that he considered family. Richard also grew up with a musically inclined family and this was passed on to him as well and showed when he played the guitar. We have a peace knowing that's his body and mind have been made whole again and he's in the arms of Jesus. And if Richard was here with us today, he would get the last word in and say, "I love you more.".
Richard is survived by his wife, Brenda; children, Lindsey Merritt (Blake) and Clark Faulkner (Mary Catherine and grandchildren, Madison and Gracie Faulkner and Briley and Braylin Merritt. He is also survived by sisters, Billie Cornwell (Lamont), Diana Grant (Don); as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life for Richard on Monday, July 29th at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, AR. Visitation is from 2:00pm-3:00pm with memorial service immediately following from 3:00-4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity. The family also wants to acknowledge how wonderful Salem Place was to our family as well as how precious Sheri Brakebill and staff comforted and loved Richard and our family during this time.

Dickey touched so many lives in the very best way. Carroll and I are grateful that we were friends with you so many years ago. I will always have the fondest memories of the “Baker Crew” getting together ( and it was usually to share a meal). Keeping you and your family close to our hearts and lifting you up in prayer!
So sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Matt and Nan Tucker

Brenda and family,
Richard was a fine man and he will be missed. May God provide peace and comfort during your time of sorrow.
Love Always,
John and Marcia Aylett
Richard was the hardest working employee I ever had. He kept making calls and never really took no as an answer for any sales he was trying to make. I enjoyed his company and we had some really good “sales” stories to tell. His passing is far too soon. He will be missed.
Brenda hit a home-run with the obituary. Dickie had a contagious personality. If you ever met him, he was your friend forever. Dickie kept us all in tears at baseball practice and the dorm at HSU. Dickie loved life and made every day count.
We all loved you dearly,
Mike
My thoughts and prayers for everyone. I am here if needed.

My prayers are with your family as you mourn this huge loss. I know Dickie is looking back on a life so well lived from heaven, and so proud of his wonderful family.
Dickie and I met in August 1969 as freshmen at Henderson. We hunted, fished and got stuck in mudholes all over Arkansas for 40 or so years and laughed and loved every adventure. My 37 yr old son Clayton killed his first duck on the Arkansas River when he was 6 yrs old with Dickie, me and possibly Jim May. I have so many great memories with Dickie to look back on that will create a smile and a happy feeling.
