of Walnut Ridge, AR
April 27, 1959 - July 25, 2024
Pamala Ann Goodson was granted her angel wings on July 25, 2024, while in hospice care at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Born on April 27, 1959, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, Pam was the beloved daughter of the late Truman and Lila Goodson. Pam was a radiant spirit who embraced life and never took a moment for granted. Although born with Cerebral Palsy, Pam did not let it diminish her joy. Instead, she accepted her condition with grace and lived life to the fullest. Pam was a proud graduate of Easterseals Academy in Little Rock and Lawrence County Cooperative School in Portia. She aspired to further her education at Yale University. Pam also took great pride in her role as President of the Resident Council at Lawrence Healthcare, where she made a positive impact on the community. Pam cherished the simple pleasures of life: engaging conversations, listening to music, reading, watching movies, and painting by numbers. She had a special fondness for butterflies, flowers, music, art, and technology. Most of all, she valued the time spent with family and friends, especially with her devoted sidekick, Norman Neece.
Pam is survived by her brother Billy (Colleen) Goodson; her sister Peggy Hanks; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Truman and Lila Goodson; her brother Joe Goodson; and her sister Joyce Smith.
A drop-in memorial gathering will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the home of Billy and Colleen Goodson located at 395 CR 353 in Bono. Donations in her honor to the Lawerence County Cooperative School in Portia or Easterseals Arkansas would be greatly appreciated and will honor her legacy. Pam's zest for life and appreciation for the small things left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her big heart, loving kindness, beautiful smile, and genuine joy made every interaction with her truly special.
Pam once said, ''I don't like pity of any kind. I never question why me…I face life with a smile knowing life is what you make it. I'm very grateful for all the kindness and love I've been shown my whole life.'' Though she may no longer be with us, Pam's spirit and the love she shared will continue to inspire and comfort those who had the privilege of knowing her, and her legacy will continue to make the world a better place.
I am so sorry for your loss. I have very fond memories of visiting with Pam at your parents home with Joyce. Praying for you and your family. Bobbie Holder
