H.C. McKay, 92, passed away on July 22, 2024 in Batesville, Arkansas.
He was born in Batesville to Joe Bell McKay and Odist McKay.
H.C. was a veteran of the US Army who fought in the Korean War and was very proud of his service to his country. He was a truck driver that hauled asphalt for 40 years. He was a strong willed, independent man who loved his family and enjoyed deer hunting and tinkering with things in his shop.
Survivors include a son, Jeff McKay; two daughters, Connie (Keith) Stillwell and Vickie (Bert) Conely; one sister, Ruby Goforth; four grandchildren; Jon Stillwell (Sarah), James Stillwell, Brandon Hill, and Jenna McKay and one great-grandson, Miles Stillwell.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; one brother; three sisters and a grandson.
A private graveside service will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville.
Memorials may be made to the Independence County Humane Society, 5 Environmental Drive, Batesville, AR 72501.
