Steve Gene Rhoads, 70, of Ash Flat passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
He was born January 12, 1954 in Salem, Arkansas to Andy Cleo Rhoads and Eulene Herron Rhoads.
Steve attended Myron Baptist Church in Ash Flat. When Steve was younger he played guitar and sang in church. He wrote Christian songs and performed those in church too. He was a self taught guitar player at the age of 14. He had a band for years in the 80's. They played country music. He read his Bible daily and was a devout Christian since he was a child. He was saved and baptized at 12 years old. Steve could quote just about anything out of the Bible and was always the first to be able to explain any question his daughter ever had about Jesus. He retired from White Rodgers Electric Factory in Batesville in 2009 after 30+ years. He enjoyed mechanizing/tinkering with old cars with his best friend, Dean Qualls. He collected Case and Bench Made Knives. At one point he had 60 knives all displayed in fancy glass cases on the wall in his bedroom.
