Mr. Eugene Robert Merrill, 80, of Bull Shoals, Arkansas passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024 in Bull Shoals. He was born on May 31, 1944 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Robert and Vera Merrill.
Eugene was a big fisherman and loved fishing in tournaments. He enjoyed motorcycles, NASCAR and working outside, along with tinkering outside in his yard. He especially loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends. He was a very outgoing person and everyone loved him.
He is survived by his three children: Robert Merrill (Jill) of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, Collin Merrill (Andrea) of Lakeville, Minnesota and Gina Fladhammer (Justin) of Montgomery, Minnesota; a brother, Kenny Merrill (Diane); sister, Roxie Peterson (John); nine grandchildren and partner, Aleta Newberry.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Vera Merrill.
A visitation and memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Roller Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks and the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas.

So sorry to hear of Gene's passing. He was an integral part of our local ABATE chapter for many years and will be sorely missed by us all.
Gene will be truly missed by his many friends in Bull Shoals. He was always so joyful and fun to be around. We enjoyed him and Aleta at many of our get togethers with friends. He always loved great food and especially Desserts! We will miss his Smile.

Gene was a good friend and a great fishing buddy. We always had a blast out on the lake. I will miss him.
I will miss your smile, your laugh, your kindness, your hugs and most of all your love. Our goal was to live each day to the fullest and enjoy every minute together and I think we did. I will always love you my sweet fisherman.
Gene was such a great guy! I feel blessed to have known him through Rock Steady Boxing. We always appreciated his fun spirit! He will be greatly missed!
