Mr. Meak ''Buddy'' McDaniel, 68, of Gassville, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 1, 1955 at the Hotel Deux in New Orleans, Louisiana to Meak and Fern (Carroll) McDaniel and on his sister, Bernie's 18th birthday.

Buddy was a Vietnam-era veteran. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in November of 1973, completed basic training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina and was sent to Sinop, Turkey where he was an intercept operator for military intelligence until being stationed in Ft. Clayton Panama where he was honorably discharged in October of 1976. He joined the Louisiana Air National Guard in November of the same year and worked in electronics installation until being discharged in November of 1979.

Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Michelle (Gray) McDaniel of Gassville; two sons, Patrick McDaniel (Alicia) and Matthew McDaniel (Jamey) of Arabi, Louisiana; two daughters, Kaylee Cooper of Dover, Arkansas and Delaney Denmark of Vilonia, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Patrick Jr., Aiden, Colton, Charlie, Murphy and Novalee; two sisters, Bernie Hambrice of Chalmette, Louisiana and Kathy Wright of Port Allen, Louisiana and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service, with military honors, will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the Cotter Church of Christ in Cotter, Arkansas. All family and friends are invited to attend. The family would also like to thank Hospice of the Ozarks for the loving care Buddy received in their services and request that donations be made to them in Buddy's memory.

Thank you for loving and sharing life with Buddy for the last 17 + years of his life. He was a good man, smart and loving. I know he loved all of his children, his boys and girls and grandchildren immensely and he especially loved his beautiful, sweet wife. I remember seeing a touching post on Facebook expressing that love! May God provide the comfort and strength you need now.
