September 28, 1950 - July 4, 2024
Benton ''Kim'' Emerson, born September 28, 1950, passed away on July 4, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Diane Emerson; parents, Reba and Farris Emerson and sister, Ann Childers. Kim is survived by his son, Matthew Benton Emerson and his wife, Carolee Emerson; two granddaughters, Lauren Farris Emerson and Allison ''Allie'' Harper Emerson and sister, Marilyn Lyons. Kim dedicated his entire professional life to Little Rock Winnelson Company, beginning his journey as a delivery driver and eventually becoming President, a position he held for 35 years. He realized his dream of retiring in 2020, marking a half-century of service to the company.
He was a devoted caretaker to his beloved wife, Linda of 48 years, until her passing in 2021. Their marriage was a testament to love and dedication, with Linda being the center of his life. Kim cherished every moment they spent together and loved her more than anything in the world.
In his free time, he once enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. In his younger years, Kim was an enthusiastic coach for his son, Matthew's baseball team, leaving a lasting impression as a mentor and a role model to many of his young players. Known for his eloquent storytelling, Kim captivated those around him with his words and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His faith was an essential part of his life as a member of Pinnacle Church of Christ. He found immense joy in his grandchildren, Lauren and Allie, who brought him much pride and happiness. He took great delight in showering them with love and affection and spoiling them as grandparents do. The happiness and pure love he experienced in their presence never failed to warm his heart.
Kim will be remembered for his dedication, engaging stories and the generous, thoughtful love he gave to his family and friends and will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A service to celebrate Kim's life will be held on Tuesday, July 30th from 5:30-8:30pm at Chenal Country Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Hospital, in honor of Kim's memory.
What a great man. Kim always made you feel welcome no matter what he had going on. Thoughts and prayers for Matt and the entire Emerson family.
We lived across the road from Kim and Linda for many years. A nicer guy could not be found anywhere! Our thoughts and prayers are with the Emerson family. He will be missed.
