of Proctor, AR
September 5, 1947 - July 6, 2024
James Delbert Hall of Proctor, Arkansas, known to most as J.D. and to some as "Zeke", left this life on July 6th, 2024. He was born in Dyess, Arkansas (and proud of it) on September 5, 1947. JD was a 27 year Veteran of the West Memphis Police Department, retiring with the rank of Inspector. He was also a proud Patriot and Veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved anything done outside, but his number one passion was time spent with his beloved grandchildren. He loved spending time with them more than life itself and he proudly bragged to anyone that would listen that he taught them all to drive, hunt and how to properly handle a gun! He considered himself to be the #1 person they should take advice from.
JD was married for 57 years to his high school sweetheart, Lynda. JD was of the Methodist faith but found much joy in his later years watching his baby brother preach live from his recliner at home every Sunday. He was so proud of all his siblings.
JD was preceded in death by his parents, L.J. & Merline Hall; brother, Thomas Womble and sister, Faye Cissell. He leaves behind his wife, Lynda; son, James "Jamie" Hall; daughter, Pamela (Lance) Scarbrough; 5 grandchildren, Caitlin Hall, Lauren Hall, Landon (Madison) Scarbrough, Layton Scarbrough, Logan Hall; sister, Judy (Ricky) Jewell of Benton, Arkansas; brother, John (Darlene) Hall of Providence, VA; brother, Rev. Bob (Margaret) Hall) of Beebe, Arkansas and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
JD was my first uniformed Captain, and a very good Friend. My prayers are for Lynda, and the family.
Lynda and Family,
Saying goodbye to a lifelong friend Is never easy. James was a part of my childhood. So many memories; riding our bikes on gravel roads on hot Summer days, Bible school, attending the Dyess Methodist Church together, and one year when the water got so high, I looked out and saw James rowing a boat on the street beside my house. When I ask what he was doing, he said, “I’m going to the post office to get the mail. Do you want to go and get yours” I hopped in the boat with him and he rowed us to the post office to collect our mail. I knew James to be kind, gentle, and a family guy, and I shall remember him as just that.
Words can not begin to say how much JD was to being an instrumental part of my life growing up! So many memories from baseball, hunting and riding horses. He was definitely a good man for putting up with Jamie and me at the same time. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all during this time.
So sad to hear of Zeke's passing. He was a true son of Dyess, an Eagle and an all-round good person. He was much like L.J and his grandpa Hall.
Everyone from the mother land loved the Hall family.
Lynda and family so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with all of you. Remember to lean on the good Lord and he will help you through the tough days ahead. If there is anything I can do to help please let me know.

Lynda and family I am saddened to learn of Zeke’s death. He was a close friend and a fellow Eagle. There is a connection shared by those of us fortunate enough to have experienced growing up at Dyess that is hard to explain to others.
May God comfort you during this time of grief. My deepest condolences.
Lynda and family,
As you know I’m from Dyess and my whole family loved the Hall family, we will be praying for your family and may God give you the peace that only He can during this time. I loved James.
