of Heber Springs, AR
February 20, 1960 - July 8, 2024
Karl D. Friedmann, 64, of Heber Springs, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on July 8, 2024. Born on February 20, 1960 in Newport News, Virginia, Karl was the third son of Ralph Friedmann Jr. (RJ) and Myra Friedmann. He is survived by his sons, Jordan and George Friedmann; his wife, Janet Owen and his brothers, Ralph III and his wife, Suzanne and Curt Friedmann. He is also survived by his former wife and close friend, Dottie Friedmann.
Karl's early years were marked by travels across the country and world including a stint in London, England, due to RJ's career. Eventually, Karl settled in the Chicago area before moving to Little Rock, Arkansas, where he joined his family in establishing and operating a successful nurse staffing business, InteliStaf. Here, he found his calling and thrived in the field of medical and professional staffing.
Karl cherished watching his boys grow into young men and was always there to support them and those around him. He shared his impressive cooking skills and was a constant source of wisdom and comfort. Following his retirement, Karl spent his summers at the lake, which inspired him to settle permanently in Heber Springs. There, he found joy in remodeling his house and tending to his impressive yard, plants and flowers. He also loved traveling, often escaping the cold months by visiting Central and South America and the Caribbean, where he forged life-long friendships with people from around the world.
Karl had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcomed and a part of his life-his love knew no bounds. His kindness and warm-hearted nature were evident to all who met him. He lived his life according to one inspiring concept: Positive Mental Attitude (PMA), which will continue on forever. It was an honor to be in his presence and he was always the life of any party.
The family acknowledges that cancer is a disease that affects everyone. Please make donations to CARTI of Arkansas in honor of Karl.
A Visitation will be held at Rusty Tractor Vineyards, located at 10 Rusty Tractor Ln, Little Rock, AR 72210 on Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 5:30 to 8:00 PM.

My good friend Karl, may you now rest in peace. We had so many wonderful times together thru highschool and thereafter. You were one of a kind and a true original. I always admired your love of life’s adventures, whether it was working at Henri with me, going to Spring Break in college together, traveling for InteliStaf or vacations in exotic places, or simply turning LR upside down when I would visit! You were always a good man and father to your 2 sons. You will be missed my friend. God bless.
Karl's visits to Panama were always filled with unforgettable stories. His zest for life was contagious, and the adventures we shared will remain treasured memories. As he reunites with my father, I can imagine the wonderful conversations they'll have. Karl's warmth and companionship will be deeply missed.
Our prayers and love are with you and the family. Know that we are here if there is anything you need. Love you, Jan.
