of Lexa, AR
July 26, 1996 - June 28, 2024
Nathan "Nate-Nate" Scott Spakes departed this earth June 28, 2024 doing what he loved with his dad.
Nate was born July 26, 1996 to Ryan and Michelle Spakes in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
He leaves behind his mother, Michelle Spakes of Lexa, Arkansas; his brothers, Justin Spakes (Morgan) of Poplar Grove, Arkansas and Dawson Spakes (Kaitlyn Gould) of Lexa, Arkansas; his nieces, Natalee and Berklee Spakes of Poplar Grove, Arkansas; his grandparents, Larry and Estell Wilson of Marion, Arkansas; his grandmother, Janice Spakes of Fayetteville, Arkansas; special friends, Susan Oxner and Arica Pankey of Helena, Arkansas; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry Spakes and grandmother, Donna Carpenter.
Nate shared a love for all things outdoors with his dad, brothers and many generations past. From a young age, you could find him with a baseball bat, on the football field, hunting or fishing. He loved to play ball and always had a good attitude, regardless of the outcome. Hunting and fishing were his true passions; he took every opportunity to brag about catching the most with family and friends.
In 2010, Nate's life changed forever, but he faced it with strength and determination. Despite the challenges, his personality continued to shine through in new ways. The excitement of an airplane in the sky would light up his face. His affectionate nature was evident in his loving shoves, points and high fives.
Nate's life, though marked by adversity, was also characterized by an indomitable spirit and an unwavering zest for life. His resilience became a beacon of hope and strength for those who knew him.
Nate was our miracle boy in many ways. He helped us open our eyes and see things differently, and for that, we are forever grateful. He leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest in peace, Nate. Your memory, alongside your father's, will forever live in our hearts.
