James Orie Jaco, age 80, passed away peacefully in his home Wednesday, June 26, 2024. He was born in Helena, Arkansas on Friday, August 27, 1943 to the late Gary Tooley Jaco and Mary Edna Jaco.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Sue ''Suzy'' Jaco; two sons, Jason Orie Jaco (Amanda) of Lexa, Arkansas and Stephen Wayne Jaco (Brittany) of Dresden, Tennessee; daughter, Pamela Jaco Johnston (Charlie) of Helena, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Stephen Gray Jaco, Beau Bronson Jaco, Nia Grace Jaco, Joseph Orie Jaco, Jackson James Jaco, Austin Brent Johnston and Sydnee Blake Johnston; three great-grandchildren, Grayson, Cullen and Tatum; sister, Lavinia ''Beanie'' Robinson (Dale) of Missouri; brother, George Jaco (Jimmie Lou Brandon) of West Helena, Arkansas; host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Gary Tooley Jaco and Mary Edna Jaco; five sisters, Julia Shenep, Clarice (Tooley) Kidder, Peggy Stewart, Blanch Gervasini, and Melba Jean Baker and brother, John Henry Jaco.
Pallbearers will be Blake Johnston, Tyrone Stayton, Bryan Davis and Carson Mcgee.
A funeral service for James Orie Jaco will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena, Arkansas. A visitation will be held prior to the service at 1:30 p.m. Jason Jaco will officiate. Interment will follow at Turner Cemetery in Marvell, Arkansas.

I always enjoyed visiting and joking with Orie when i went by to see my wife ,who also worked at the local office. Enjoyed the stories that were told at the service.
Steve and family, so sorry for all of our loss. Orie, was definitely “One of a kind”. My prayers are with y’all.
