James Harold Phillips, age 78, of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this earthly life on Sunday, June 23rd, 2024 at Highland Court in Marshall, Arkansas. He was born in Marshall, Arkansas on August 18th, 1945 to Charlie Hubert Phillips and Wauneace Gertha McCutcheon Phillips.

James worked in telephone communications for most of his life. In later years he worked as an over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling around the country.

Survivors include his children, Don Phillips (Becky) of McClellanville, SC, Harold Phillips (Kathie) of Taylorsville, NC, Danita Greenway (Brian) of Hickory, NC, Alan Phillips (Sandy) of Stony Point, NC and Celeste Phillips of Catawba, NC; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; siblings, Jake Phillips, Herbert Phillips, Charlotte Ragland, Sue Snow, Sheila Threet and Anna Little and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Wauneace Phillips; wife, Suzanne; daughter, Pamela Lemmon and siblings, Charlene McEntire and Wanda Goett.

Graveside memorial services for James will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 29th, 2024 at Western Grove Cemetery in Western Grove, Arkansas.

I hate to hear of Jim’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with Jim when he installed some telecommunications equipment at Ritter Communications. After he finished the project he came to work at Ritter and was there until he retired. I really liked Jim, he was a super guy. May you rest in peace my friend.
