Guy Anthony Riga, 84, of Jonesboro, AR passed from this life on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. He was born on June 23, 1939 in Jonesboro to Frank and Katherine (Green) Riga. Guy proudly served his country in the United States Army for 21 years before retiring, including 2 tours in Vietnam. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. He loved to play cards with family and friends and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Martha Joyce Riga; his parents; an infant daughter, Patricia Riga; a granddaughter, Ashley Riga; and siblings, Sister Petra Riga, Joan McConnel, Ivo Riga, Jane Ferguson, Rita Riga, Roy Riga, Leo Riga, Martha Uebehlor and Steve Riga.

Those left to remember Guy are his son, Raymond Riga; daughters, Katherine Riga, Bonnie (Robert) Kline and Sharon (Fred) Petersen; grandchildren, Dr. Robert Shurley, Chad Shurley, Mary Katherine Lamb, Amanda Brown, Brandon Riga, Kylee Fisher and Katie Petersen; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of friends and loved ones.

A Rosary service will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church on Monday, June 24, 2024 beginning at 9am. A visitation will follow from 9:30-10:30. A funeral mass will begin at 10:30am with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pall bearers are Guy Landon Shurley, Jackson Shurley, Brandon Riga, Justin Lamb, Elijah Riga and Mitch Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Hecht, Mark Underwood and Jerry Thompson.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Guy's name to the Blessed Sacrament School Endowment fund at 1105 East Highland Drive in Jonesboro, AR.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.
