Loye Ray Sloan (Giz), age 79, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on Monday, June 17 at Arkansas Heart Hospital. He was born in Prim, Arkansas on July 12, 1944 to Dude and Edith Sloan. Ray is preceded by his mother and dad and one baby brother, Aubrey Sloan. He was also preceded by a grandson, Joshua Henry.
Ray enjoyed the trucking business. He was a very hard-working man and loved by many. Ray had many precious moments spent with Haylen Henry.
Survivors for the past 40 years, include the love of his life, Leyon. He is survived by a son, Philip Sloan of Mountain View, Arkansas and a daughter, Teresa Sloan of Alabama; brother, Alton Boyd (Pat) Sloan and two sisters, Darla Beckham (Dow) and Rita Sloan Griffin. Ray also left behind his bonus family who loves him very much, Sherri Beth Snow (Gary Don), Lisa Henry, Marice Dale Bratton, Garrett, Harness, Savannah and Haylen Henry and many extended family and friends who will mourn his passing.
Visitation is Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 1-2PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services follow the visitation beginning at 2:00PM with Brother Tim Clark officiating. Interment will be at Case Cemetery where he will be laid to rest by his mother and dad.
Pallbearers are Nick Mason, Aubrey Sloan, Gary Don Snow, Kem Bratton, Garrett Harness and Paul Sloan. Honorary pallbearers will be trucking and sawmill buddies.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
