Mr. Clay St. George Berry, 61, of Gassville/Mountain Home passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024. Born in Paragould, Arkansas on January 22, 1963, Clay grew up in Corning and was a proud member of the CHS Bobcat class of 1981. He returned to U of A Fayetteville and began his life's work securing financial aid for students who otherwise may not have received a college education. Clay was one of a kind.
I had the privilege to work with him for many years. He used his knowledge of financial aid to change the lives of many. He will be missed.
So, so very sorry to learn of the loss of Clay. He was an extremely intelligent man, always willing to help others. Along with Clay's dear friends and family, we will miss him in the FInancial Aid world. He left very large shoes to fill along with his great laughter and humor. God bless.
Mrs. Berry, I am so sorry for your immense loss.
We are very sorry to hear about Clay. He was a kind, gentle and caring person. We enjoyed going on adventures with him and hearing about those we missed. We appreciated his friendship and miss him very much.
I was so shocked and broken hearted to hear of Clay’s passing! I remember him as that ornery little younger brother being fussed at by his sisters. I’m so very sorry for your loss
So sorry to hear about Clay's passing. I was able to visit with him several times over the past few years. He was extremely fun to be around, and will be missed by everyone who knows him. God's love and blessings to his friends and family.

This was such sad news. Clay touched so many with his knowledge, organization and humor. Working with many Finance people, I never met anyone like him – he was a master in the area of Financial Aid and had a great sense of humor. He also cared so much for the community and the Mountain Home students. I will always remember his stories and his work ethic. My condolences to the family. May you rest in peace my friend!
Eve,
I’m so sorry that you and your family are having to deal with such a great loss. I hope that you find comfort in remembering all of the good times, and knowing that you have many friends who are here when you need us.
May God be with you and strengthen you is my prayer.
Love,
DeLois aka "Boss Lady”
To the Berry Family, sending you my deepest condolences in the loss of Clay. I worked with him at SLGFA. He was the absolute best team member and travel partner ever. I am at a loss of words. He will be missed and praying for the family and friend's during this most difficult time.
I am so sorry to hear of Clay’s passing. I always enjoyed visiting with him at Financial Aid Nights.
To the Berry family, Mrs. Berry, Eve, and Amy. I am so so sorry for your loss. I had not seen Clay since High School! Then one day when I was working at ASU, a little convertible sports car pulled up beside me, and it was Clay. It was nice to see him and hear some of the things he had done with his life. We will meet again in time.
Georgia, Eve and Amy,
I’m so sorry to hear of Clay’s passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May God comfort you now and in the days to come.
ASUMH lost a stalwart friend of students! He will be missed by all who knew him. Rest easy, my friend.
Clay was the best person ever. He took a shot on me when he hired me in the financial aid office at ASUMH. He forever changed my career path. He was the best mentor and was there if I needed anything both professional and personally. I will miss him and know that he will always be looking out for me.
I am deeply saddened to hear of Clay's passing. I am honored to have been able to get to know him. He had tremendous knowledge of Financial Aid and a great advocate for the students he served. I will always remember the joy he had for life. He will be missed!
Rest in peace dear friend.
Clay touched my life in so many ways. He was always a listening ear, had a good joke and one of my favorite people to talk about all the little known historical things with. Forever missed.
I’m so sorry to hear this! Clay had such a heart for helping people and he did such a great job! His personality was one of a kind and he will be greatly missed, especially on the ASUMH campus and in the local high schools where he poured his heart out helping so many secure financial aid! Many prayers going up for all those who loved him.
Clay has been a friend since my freshman year at UofA. We were neighbors on the third floor of Yocum hall. My hart goes out to his family. Clay will be missed.
I was heartbroken to see Clay passed. Working with him at ASUMH was a pleasure. Always smiling and enthusiastic .Prayers for comfort and peace to the family. Rest in peace, my friend.
My condolences to Clay's family. I had the privilege of working with him for a few years. He was a strong advocate for those needing his assistance. Truly a wonderful person.
Clay was my boss but most important my friend. He was also like a brother that you didn't always agree with but were able to always leave on a good note. I really don't know what we will do without him in this office. Most of the time he was here 7 days a week. The Financial Aid world was his passion. I am so sorry for his mom and sisters and family at this time. Clay always claimed to be a momma's boy and you could tell he loved her and his sisters dearly. He was so excited to get to go to his niece's wedding a few weeks ago and when he came back to work the next week, the glow stayed on his face. He was proud of his family. Prayers for Clay and all of the family. You will be and already are missed.
Dear Family, I was so sorry to hear of Clay’s passing. I worked with him for several years at SLGFA. He was a great worker and always willing to go the extra mile for anyone. He was smart and knew financial aid regulations back and forth. He became a trusted ‘go to’ person for the financial aid community. He will be missed.
Mr, Berry.
How I am absolutely heartbroken over your passing. You were so kind and so helpful. I don’t think I would’ve understood any of my finances regarding school without you. You bent over backwards to help me and I will never forget it or you. You made me feel comfortable and like you cared. I hope you are at peace. You were a good man. I’m grateful to have known you, even for the little amount that I did.
I will miss you Grumpy Cat. Who will look up fascinating waterfalls to go find Who will tell Matt he's going the wrong way Who will challenge us on our music trivia, and do movie quotes, and know what weird old black and white movie I'm prattling on about Our group's walks and hikes and kayaking trips and disc golf and meandering road trips will all seem odd without you. I pray you are held in our Father's arms surrounded by peace and comfort. Love you my friend.
I'm sorry for your loss. Clay will be missed.
The 3rd floor of Roller Hall will never be the same. There was never a dull moment when Clay was there and he was always there. We lost one of the best on Sunday.
Georgia, Eve, & Amy,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers are with you.
Teresa
