of Lead Hill, AR
May 15, 1939 - June 15, 2024
Jackie (Jack) J. Hudson, age 85, entered eternal life through the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 15, 2024. He was born May 15, 1939 to Russell Hudson and Dovie (Richardson) Hudson Matlock in Lowry, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and wife of 61 years, Barbara (Foresee) Hudson, his parents and two step-brothers, Johnny Matlock and Gerald Matlock.
Jack is survived by two children, Dianna Lee (Dwayne) of Farmington, Arkansas and Dwain Hudson (Amy) of Harrison, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Paige Estes (Cory), Nathan Hudson (Victoria), Henry Lee (Amanda) and Hayden Lee; six great-grandchildren, Bella and Burley Estes, Hugh and Hollyn Hudson and Hayes and James Lee and two step-brothers, Stanley Matlock of Missouri and Charles Ray Matlock of Oregon.
Jack lived his full life within a couple of miles from where he was born, but he and his wife, Barbara, traveled to all 50 states, Mexico, Canada and Europe. He was a cattle farmer for 75 years; he received his first calf from his grandpa Richardson in 1946 at the age of 7. He loved his family and his farm and would gladly tell you about them. He was an avid storyteller and never met a stranger.
Visitation was on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
The funeral service was on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with Don Crosswhite officiating.
The interment was in Maplewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jack's grandsons, Dakota Akers and Austin Williams.
His family appreciates all the kindness and support that was provided by his friends and neighbors over the years.
Jackie Joe and Barbra were the first ones we met when we moved to Arkansas and soon became the truest friends we ever knew.
Lead Hill won't be the same without Jack. He was family and a friend. We stopped to see him last year when we came to Lead Hill and planned to stop again this year. We miss him and Barbara.
With love,
Raymond and Berta
I’m so sorry for your great loss.
really good man.. proud to have been able to get to know him.
I’m so very sorry to hear about Uncle Jack. I have the most wonderful memories of him and Aunt Barbara. I will always remember sitting in the back of the pickup as we rounded up the cows for dinner, enjoying the Lead Hill 4th of July picnic, and listening to him tell stories with his unmistakeable voice. His laugh was infectious!! I will never forget him. Much love from my family to your family in this very difficult time. -David Matlock
My prayers are with all your family. So sorry to hear this sad news. Love and hugs to you all.
Dwain, We are so sorry for your loss. You are in our hearts and prayers.
Nancy and I are so sorry to hear about our loss of Jackie. Jackie is a classmate of my Class of 1957 and will be remembered and not forgotten. His ability to inform and entertain with stories was endless.
I am so sorry for your loss. He would come to visit us when we lived at Tucker Hollow. My brother Richard helped him with some of his cattle a few times.
