Marcie V Lloyd

of Searcy, AR

August 31, 1934 - June 12, 2024

Marcie Crawford Lloyd, age 89, of Searcy, AR went to her heavenly home on June 12, 2024. She was born August 31, 1934 to Marshall and Hazel Crawford in Liner, MO.

After one year of school at Harding College, Marcie began teaching grades 1-8 in a one-room schoolhouse in rural Missouri. She later returned to Searcy, graduating from Harding College in 1957.

Marcie was united in marriage to Ted Lloyd on December 15, 1957. They lived in Searcy, AR their entire married life, where Marcie selflessly taught elementary school at Harding Academy for 28 years.

Marcie loved traveling with her husband, Ted, Harding faculty and students all over the world, to places like Panama, Italy, England, Greece, Egypt, Australia and Chile, but her favorite place was 43 Harding Drive, where she and Ted lived together for 63 of their 66 years of marriage. She welcomed countless people into her home - students and athletes, friends and family. Cooking ''from scratch'' for her family filled her with so much joy. Her lemon icebox and coconut cream pies were legendary.

Marcie & Ted had many wonderful friends throughout their married life and loved nothing more than having friends and family over to the house to play board games and Rook.

She was an active member of the College Church of Christ in Searcy until her death. She was a dedicated Sunday School teacher. Reading her Bible daily was a constant in her adult life.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Hazel and Marshall Crawford. She is survived by her loving husband, Ted and her beloved children, Rees Lloyd and wife, Mandy of Searcy, Melissa Master and her husband, Robert of Searcy; her grandchildren, Abby Crossland and her husband, Bret of Olathe, KS, Tucker Lloyd and his wife, Bridget of Nolensville, TN; Marcie White and her husband, Andrew of Rogers, AR and Max Master of Rogers, AR. She had two great-grandchildren, Ruby and Millie Crossland and was looking forward to a great-grandson, baby White, in October. She is also survived by two brothers, Bob Crawford (Dyana) and Joe Crawford (Nancy) both of Mountain Home, AR and many nieces and nephews, sisters- and brothers-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Marcie's honor be made to the HU Track & Cross-Country programs. Donations can be made to Harding University Advancement, 915 E. Market, HU 12238, Searcy, AR 72159, attn Marcie Lloyd Memorial.

Dear Uncle Ted, Rees & Mandy, Melissa & Robert, grandchildren and spouses and great grand children,
I first met Aunt Marcy when I was 8 years old, at your wedding. At the time I thought she was a "Princess" and you were "Prince Charming" and I have never changed my mind. I can only imagine how grateful the angles are to have such a wonderfully sweet, competent, caring new member in their community. I pray that our Heavenly Father continues to wrap his strong arms around you all and forever bind you to her love. In His Service, Paula
