Steve and Sharon were college sweethearts in the early 70's at ASU when they were looking toward a future as a pharmacist and schoolteacher. Graduation in May 1973 and married in December, the Bryant's were a family of four by 1979. The foundation was set for a life of love, hard work, laughter, compromise, and sticking together through thick and thin.
Steve Bryant (72), loving husband, father, ''Pop'', and friend passed away, alongside his sweet wife of 51 years, Sharon Bryant (73), caring wife, mother, ''Nena'' and friend, on May 12th, 2024. They lived life to the fullest, attending countless A-State football games both home and away, traveling, walking the dogs, swimming with the grandkids, and watching Heartland together nightly.
Steve was born to Steve Sr. and Jeanette Bryant in Alma, AR on September 18, 1951. Sharon was born to John L. and Gay Collatt in Little Rock, AR on May 1, 1951. Monica Bryant and Justin & Mallory Burton and Family
I was so sorry to hear about Steve and Sharon. I have a lot of good memories of growing up in Alma, playing football, basketball, and running track with Steve. Somehow, we were always the last two to leave the locker room. He was the one to take me out for my last night as a single guy (thanks Steve for the worst hangover I’ve ever had). We got to know Sharon when they were living in Little Rock while he was attending pharmacy school. RIP my ole friend. Y’all will most definitely be missed. Sincerest sympathy to your beautiful family.
Our heartfelt condolences to you, Monica, and your family. We cherished your wonderful parents and will always remember their kindness to our family. We are deeply sorry for your loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
We offer our deepest condolences to the family of Dr. Joseph Stephen Bryant and Sharon Bryant, whose lives were tragically taken from us. Their unwavering dedication and contributions to society have leaves an indelible mark on all who knew them.
Dr. Joseph Stephen Bryant was a beacon of healing and compassion in their community. His medical expertise and commitment to improving healthcare access touched countless lives Beyond his professional achievements, he was a cherished husband and father, whose kindness and generosity knew no bounds.
Sharon Bryant was equally remarkable, known for her warmth and tireless efforts in supporting her family and community.
Their legacy of compassion and commitment to service will endure through their loving family. In this time of sorrow, we extend our deepest condolences to their relatives, friends, and all who were touched by their remarkable lives.
It's with extreme sadness that I express my condolences to Steve and his wife's families and friends. We are the same age and started our ASU college football days the same year. We just drove through town a couple of weeks ago as we were returning from Mena and had just commented to my wife Barbara that i should call Steve. Our time at school, football and then the couple of reunions are great memories. We will be at a conference the weekend of the service. Steve was a positive role model and illustrated the meaning of manhood and dedication. Steve will be greatly missed and remembered.
