of Searcy, AR
September 23, 1950 - June 10, 2024
George Phillip Knife of Searcy, AR passed away on June 10, 2024. He was born on September 23, 1950 to Warren and Elizabeth Knife in Little Rock, AR and spent a period of time living in North Little Rock.
Heaven knew George had arrived when the roar of the early morning blastoff of the ultimate bass tournament was heard.
George was a man of many talents, including a guitarist, motor-cross racer, softball player, scuba diver, fisherman and a floor covering installer, but most of all, he was a family man. His favorite places to be, were with his family and on the water fishing. He always said, when he was on the water is when he felt the closest to God.
Once his sons had grandchildren, George received the best name of all, ''Papa George''. His grandsons, Nate and Jayden spent many wonderful summer evenings with their Papa. George's musical talent and his love of fishing and enjoying the outdoors were inherited by both his sons and grandsons. George was a devoted husband, loving father, loyal son, brother, friend and neighbor. George will be sorely missed by all who were fortunate to know him, especially his coffee drinking and fishing buddies. He wasn't with us long enough.
He is survived by his wife of almost 57 years, Kay (Shook) Knife of Searcy, AR; son, Chris and his wife, Beth of Ocala, FL; son, Jason and his wife, Jennifer of Searcy, AR; grandsons, Nathan of Ocala, FL and Jayden of Searcy, AR; two brothers and their wives, Raymond and Betty Knife of Benton, AR and Gary and Anita Knife of Jacksonville, AR; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Helms and husband, Alfred of Sherwood, along with several nieces and nephews.
We know that George is fishing the best bass tournament ever on the eternal lake in Heaven.
Services will be held at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy, AR on June 15, 2024 with Visitation at 9:00AM followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10:00AM. Graveside will be held at Rest Hills Memorial Park in Sherwood at 1:00PM. The family has requested casual dress for the day in Honor of George. Memorials may be made in Memory of George to St. Jude Children's Hospital Hospital in Memphis, TN.

George and Kay were wonderful neighbors of ours for over 30 years!
George always had a wonderful sense of humor and was always willing to help out in anyway possible. Anytime we had any type of flooring work done, we always insisted on George doing it because he was so meticulous about his work!
