of North Little Rock, AR
April 13, 1937 - June 6, 2024
Ruby Fern Poe Davidson, age 87, went to be with our Lord and Savior on June 6, 2024. Fern was born on April 13, 1937 to Coleman Franklin Poe and Cora Bell Bailey Poe. Fern was raised in Enola, AR and grew up on their farm. In 1956 she married her late husband, Jim Davidson and raised their two children, Jim and Jan, in North Little Rock, AR.
Fern spent her working life with the Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services and Harp's. As a country girl from Enola, Fern absolutely loved being outdoors tending to her flowers, plants and yard. She loved local history and even published a book about her beloved Faulkner County. Fern was also an avid genealogist and traced her family roots back many generations. Fern was a devout Church of Christ member and next to her love of God, her biggest love was her family.
Fern is survived by her son, Jim (Kristin) and daughter, Jan (Doug); grandchildren, Bailey (Jared), Braden (Samantha), Brette, Asa and Johnathan (Stacy); great grandchildren, Jenson, Cora, Hattie, Waylon, Maxey, Teddy, Mary and Ellie and dear friends, Ted and Barbara Knight and Gene and Marion Holloway.
A graveside service will be held at 10am on Monday, June 10, 2024 at Heffington Cemetery in Enola, AR.
I am sorry to hear about the passing of Fern. When I first moved to N. Little Rock when I was 13 years old, she was my Wednesday night Bible class teacher. Her beauty and elegance were stunning to me, but soon all of that was overshadowed by her love for me and her love of God. She made a big impact on my life and I will always love her.
I adored Mrs.Ruby I’m truly heartbroken to know she past but I know she is at peace.
Fern was a wonderful person. I loved working with her in selling her house in Cabot. We had several setbacks. With help from Jim and Jan. We were successful. I’m sad she has passed. But she is in a better place. Love to the family.
So sorry for your loss, prayers of comfort and peace.
Comfort and blessing to you all. Many fond memories.
Jan and family, I am so sorry for your loss. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. Becky
Much love to the family. She was one of the most special people I’ve ever know.
I am saddened to learn of Fern's passing. She was a good friend and provided expert collaboration on our shared love of local history and our family's genealogy. My deepest sympathies go out to her family.
