of Harrison, AR
September 19, 1923 - June 4, 2024
Delbert Martin, age 100, of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 at Hillcrest Home. He was born September 19, 1923, in Bass, Arkansas to John H. Martin and Florida A. (Hensley) Martin. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Martin; his second wife, Petie Joy; one brother, Delmar "Shorty" Martin; three sisters, Nelda Stahl, Alma Kimes and Edythe Scott; one son, Ronald Martin; two nephews, Bob Kimes and Gary Kimes; one niece, Judy Kimes and numerous half-brothers and half-sisters.
Delbert was independent in every way. He enjoyed staying active by cycling on his stationary bike, lifting hand weights, and spending time with his family. He took pride in dressing well by wearing pressed jeans and a button-down shirt. Some would say he was a jack-of-all-trades, including carpentry work, painting, and having the ability to repair almost anything. But most importantly, Delbert loved the Lord with all of his heart. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by two grandchildren, Kelli Martin of Memphis, Tennessee, and John Cody Martin of Farmington, Arkansas; three great-nephews, Randy and his wife, Jamie Kimes, Jimmy and his wife, Denise Kimes, and Lynn Woodworth; one great-niece, Lisa and her husband, Jeff Nielsen and many other family and friends who will dearly miss him.
Visitation was an hour before the service.
The funeral service was Friday, June 7th, 2024 at Bellefonte Church of Christ with Bro. Ray Crawford officiating.
Interment was at Maplewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lynn Woodworth, Randy Kimes, Jimmy Kimes, Kori Kimes, Kevin Waters, and Brad Newberry.
