of Harrison, AR
April 2, 1940 - May 22, 2024
Shirley Jene Patton, age 84, of Harrison, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center. She was born Tuesday, April 2,1940, in Harrison, to Charles Norman and Buna Roberts Bryant. Shirley accepted Christ as her Savior as a teenager and became a lifelong member of Liberty Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, actively living her life for the Lord as she spread Christ's love to everyone around her. Shirley married Vernon Wayne Patton at her parents' home on June 3, 1960, and the young couple quickly started their family they lovingly referred to as "the girls". She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Wayne Patton; her parents, Charles Norman and Buna Roberts Bryant; her grandsons, Andrew Guadagnini and Jared Thompson; and her brother, James Bryant and his wife, Virginia.
Shirley truly lived by the philosophy that work should be done right, and after making a suggestion to improve safety conditions at her work for Emerson Electric, she won an award that allowed her to begin a career in nursing, a calling she pursued at Family Doctor's Clinic in Harrison, Arkansas for over twenty years. Never one to be idle, Shirley enjoyed her role as mother, nurse, church pianist and farmer, and she traveled across the country with her husband when she could. Her house was always bustling with her growing family as she shared her endless knowledge on health, botany, music and animal science, while she gathered them around the table for her famous cake and chocolate syrup or around the piano to sing "Angels Rock Me to Sleep".
Shirley is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Martha Thompson, Elizabeth and Bill Guadagnini, Sarah and David Harrell, and Rachel and Matt Sprenger; her grandchildren, Emily Guadagnini, Anthony and Gessica Guadagnini, Jacob Harrell, Alex Sprenger, Brylea Sprenger, and Lexi Sprenger; her great-grandchildren, Kate, Cecelia, and Lucy Guadagnini; and her brother, Larry Bryant and his wife, Bettie; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home Funeral.
Service was on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Liberty Landmark Missionary Baptist Church off Hwy 62 in Harmon, Arkansas. Tom Peltier officiated the service. Interment was in Davidson Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bill Guadagnini, David Harrell, Matt Sprenger, Anthony Guadagnini, Jacob Harrell and Alex Sprenger.

Darvin and I are so sorry for the heartache you each are enduring. She lived by faith and example which all who knew her would know that. She shared so much wisdom and left with the Bible being her instruction book. She is rejoicing in the presence of Jesus and is very much alive forevermore. May God's Grace comfort your hearts in knowing your only separated for a short while. We love each of you. Jan and Darvin Barrett.
I’m so sad to know that this earthly home has lost such a Great, talented person!
