Jewell R. Voliva passed away peacefully on May 19, 2024, in Marion, Arkansas at the age of 92. She was born on March 7, 1932, in Randolph County, Alabama to parents Looney and Annie Nowland Richardson. She later in life met and married Jack Voliva. The two were able to spend many cherished years together before God call him home in 2017.
Jewell was a proud member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in West Memphis, Arkansas and was a retired cashier from Big Star grocery store also in West Memphis. She worked long hours and faced many hardships throughout her life, but she never gave up. She was truly an inspiration to her family. Her love for her family was unconditional and beyond measure.
She enjoyed baking, collecting cardinals (redbirds) and butterflies. Jewell loved her vegetables, cornbread, and most of all a good watermelon!
Jewell is survived by her son Keith (Shonda) of Millington, Tennessee, and her daughter Sandra Gestring (Michael) of Bartlett, Tennessee. She will be deeply missed by four grandchildren, Johnny Burch, Richie Smithwick, Brooke Smithwick and Hunter Smithwick as well as her great grandchildren Jordan Burch, Jaci Smithwick and Kali Smithwick along with two great-great grandchildren Aiden Whatley and Zane Harrison. Jewell is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, brothers Ocie, Charles, Willis and LB, her sisters Loudie, Wordie Belle, Gladys, AV, Addie, and Marie as well as her grandson Bradley Smithwick.
Both Visitation and Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Cornerstone Baptist Church in West Memphis, Arkansas. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and Service at 2:00 PM. Jewell will be laid to rest next to her husband Jack afterwards at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas.
What can you say about Ms. Jewell But that she was such a loving and Godly woman! When Mr. Jack was living if you saw one you would see the other! They will be reunited with open arms!

She was a dear friend to me. I will surely miss her. She was the best. I used to go by and see her and play my guitar and we would sing together those good ol gospel hymns. bw
