August 25, 1941 - May 16, 2024

Ruby Ellison was born on August 25, 1941 to her parents Raymond Lee and Marion Elaine Miller in Earle, Arkansas.

Ruby was a stay-at-home mom while her kids were growing up. She loved to fish and spent a lot of time at the fish bank with her children. She was a foster mother for many years and tried to help as many kids as she could. She liked arts and crafts and working with needle point crafts. She loved making things for people. Ruby was the oldest of all her siblings and always wanted to be the boss. She especially loved spending time with her nieces including her great nieces in her later years. She had a ton of nieces and nephews and she loved them very much.

Anyone who knew her knew how much she loved to play cards. She spent much of her time playing with anyone who was willing to play games with her. Ruby was a people person and never met a stranger. She would talk to anyone who would listen. She also had three dogs that she loved with all her heart. She liked going to yard sales and flea markets and she collected tons of what knots.

Ruby loved Jesus with all her heart and loved to give her testimony. Her passion was teaching children about Jesus. She was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She also taught the Blue Bells at her church on Wednesday nights. She had a love for children and they all knew and loved her too.

Ruby gained her wings on May 16, 2024 in Thayer, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Lee Miller, Marion Elaine (Chism) Miller and her two brothers, Raymond Miller Jr. and Ray Miller and her husband, James Ellison. She is survived by two daughters, Catherine (Tim) Ward of Sardis, Mississippi and Cynthia (Dean) Chesser of Smithville, Arkansas and her son, Lee Parrish of Smithville, Arkansas. Ruby also leaves one grandson, Buddy (Stacey) Martin and one great-grandson, Ben Martin of Watertown, New York; two brothers and six sisters, Michael Miller of Somerville, Tennessee and Jackie (Shirley) Miller of Marion, Arkansas, Betty (Mike) Rutherford of Paragould, Arkansas, Joyce (Charlie) Wilson of Memphis, Tennessee, Freda (Al) Bertsch of Berne, Indiana, Sarah Sumpert of Bartlett, Tennessee, Lequita (Gary) Snuffin of Lakeland, Tennessee and Sandi (Art) Angeletti of Crawfordsville, Arkansas.

Wow! Ms Ruby is gone. I can’t be sad about where she went , her not missing James anymore or getting to stay in her home. I will miss getting to play cards for hrs at a time. Oh how I loved her fried potatoes, beans and cornbread. But the thing I’m going to miss most is our friendship and how you loved my babies and then grand babies!!!!! Love you Ms Ruby and will see you soon!!!!!
