Reuben Norris Ragan, aged 85, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2024 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on September 7, 1938 to Bethel and Reuben Ragan in DeWitt, Arkansas. After graduating from DeWitt High School, Norris attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello and received a bachelor's degree in Forestry. While working in forestry and serving in the Army National Guard at Fort Chaffee, Norris decided on a career in pharmacy. After graduating from UAMS College of Pharmacy in Little Rock in 1965, he eventually settled in Stuttgart, Arkansas and opened Ragan Rexall Drugstore and had a successful career for 52 years. Norris was very active in the Stuttgart community by serving on the Stuttgart Public School District School Board as member and president for a number of years, Kiwanis Club and Arkansas Pharmacists Association member. In 1962, Norris married his beloved wife, Sara CarlLee Ragan of England, Arkansas. Together they raised two children, Monica Ragan Mills and Jonathan Ragan. Norris was a devoted father and husband. He loved attending Razorback football games, playing golf with friends, duck hunting and yearly trips to the beach in Florida. His memory will be forever held in the hearts of his surviving family. He will always be remembered by family, friends and the Stuttgart community.

Norris is preceded in death by his parents, Bethel Adams and Reuben Ragan and brothers, Arden and Kenneth Ragan. Survivors are his wife, Sara Ragan of Little Rock; sister, Karen Ragan Davis of Conway; children, Monica Ragan Mills (Tom) and Jonathan Ragan (Jamie); grandchildren, Jordan Ragan Burns, Patrick Ragan, Connor Ragan, Colin Ragan, Abigail Mills, Hayden Mills and Anna Grace Mills and two great grandchildren.

A private graveside service is planned for May 17, 2024 at Pinecrest Memorial Park at 3 p.m. In remembrance of Norris, the family asks for memorial contributions to UAMS Scholarship Program, the Arkansas Forestry Association Education Foundation or to Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church Foundation.

The family would like to thank the staff at Pinnacle Place Memory Care, Parkway Health Nursing Center and Baptist Health Hospice for their compassionate and devoted care of Norris.

To the family...I am so sorry to learn about your loved one, Mr. Ragan. I worked for Mr. Ragan and Ms. Sara for 12 years at Ragan Drug & Gifts. A lot of good times and many funny stories over the years. He had much love and was very proud of his family, especially his grandchildren.
