Terry Don Carter, age 68, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on September 7, 1955 in Truman, Arkansas to the late Shirley Carolyn Wilson and Richard Leroy Carter.
Terry was a loving and devoted husband. He was known for the kindness he showed to others and he never met a stranger. He loved motorcycles and over the years enjoyed riding in support of many charity events. He was considered an outdoorsman as evidenced by the amount of time he spent at the lake and in the woods. Terry was an ASE Mechanic owning and operating Downtown Tire Store in Memphis, Tennessee. However, his work history also included being a real estate investor and manager as well as part owner of Cypress View Golf Course and Recreation in Marion, Arkansas and Carter Realty in West Memphis, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Karen Ann Carter; children, Lara Michele Carter, Tray Don Carter (Tracie), Lindsey Brooke White (Chance), Michael Brandon Rushing (Lindsey); brother, Doug Carter (Beverly); grandchildren, Alaynna Russel (Jensen), Preston Carter, Samuel Carter, Michael B. Rushing II, Reagan Rushing, Kate Brecklein (Brendan), Troy Papachristou, Brooklyn White, Brylee-Kate White, Braylon Woodell (Katie), Lawson White and Gracie White and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Richard Carter and Phillip Carter; one grandchild, Trey Chandler III.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Daughters of the Other Side, a faith based recovery home.
Services will be held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, Arkansas. The visitation is scheduled from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. A remembrance reception will take place at Cypress View Golf Course and Recreation in Marion for family and friends.
Karen. When we were little girls, our dreams never included things like this. Terry was amazing and so very lucky and so very proud to have you beside him. This is the way the Lord meant things to be. I love you from the bottom of my heart and always will!. I promise you. I will be right here. Call me or just come over. I'm here.

Words cannot express my feelings of sorrow. I know this is a hard time, but Terry was a great fella Never met a stranger and would do anything for you anyone that knew him was blessed my thoughts and prayers go out to the families. May God be with you
Prayers for Terry, Karen and family. He was a good man. Terry and Karen and other family members have made smart business decision to help our Crittenden County. Their contributions to Crittenden County have been great.

Karen, Tracie, and Michele...I am so sorry to hear about Terry. We use to go to Downtown Tire for all our maintenance needs for years and he was so nice. We lived next door to Mr. Green and Terry was over there alot to visit. He was always so helpful. RIP

Heaven has gained another angel. Terry was an awesome person. Him and Karen have been so good to me over the years and I can’t express how much he was loved and he will be missed greatly. The memories are what we have left and they will help keep his spirit alive. My heart breaks for the Carter family but we can find peace in knowing he is not suffering anymore.
