Kenton Curtis Tester, 92, of Clinton, Arkansas passed away May 2, 2024. He was born on November 5, 1931 to the late Roy and Ethel Tester in Copeland, Arkansas. Kenton was a longtime member of Clinton Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Keith Tester, Roy Tester; sisters, Shirley Henderson, Juanita Williams, Helen Cheatham and sister and brother-in- laws, Peggy Nan and James R. Bates.
Kenton was a retired coach, teacher and superintendent. Some may remember him as ''Yogi'' (for Yogi Berra), a name he acquired at ASTC (now UCA), Conway, Arkansas. After college, he played some professional baseball.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Wanda Lee (Gilmore) Tester of the home; children, Karen Tester, Kent Tester and wife, Kelly all from Clinton, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Colson, Zoe and three great-grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Malone of Harrison, Arkansas; two sisters in law, Opal Tester of Clinton, Arkansas, Rosemary Williams of Conway, Arkansas and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Burial will be at Hunter-Hill Cemetery in Clinton, Arkansas under the care and direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home.

Mr Kenton was a gem! I always looked forward to seeing him and Mrs Wanda when we hosted mom's class reunions. He was one of those people who seemed to love life no matter what and made those around him love it too. I know he is missed
I have fond memories of both Mr. and Mrs. Tester teaching at Plumerville High School. Thanks to Mr. Tester I finally understood algebra.

My heart breaks with you at the loss of your father, Kenton. Those we have held in our arms for a little while, we hold in our hearts forever.
I am so sorry to discover that Kenton has passed. I will always remember his smile and his positive, happy disposition. I know he will be dearly missed. I am praying for peace and strength for Wanda and each family member. I care.
Uncle Kenton was a wonderful uncle to the dozen nieces and nephews on the Tester-side of the family. He was a Type A personality - when there was work to be done on the farm we worked; and when the time for play came, he played hard with us. Wonderful memories!
May you know Mr. Tester left his inspiring and positive mark in the community through the schools and church. He's remembered with love. I pray for all of his loved ones to have peace in this time of loss. May God Bless you all

I was so sorry to learn of Kenton's passing. He was my neighbor when I first moved to Clinton, later my coach in American Legion baseball, also a Bible study teacher, and always a great mentor of mine. My heartfelt and sincerest condolences to Wanda, Karen, Kent and all the family. He will be greatly missed.

I will truly miss Mr. Kenton. He had a contagious smile. We calked him Mr. T at times which he liked. It was a privilege and my honor to care for him when he was at Ozark Health Nursing Center.
