Carolyn McFerrin Leigh
of West Memphis, Arkansas
February 15, 1938 April 27, 2024
It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn McFerrin Leigh, 86, who departed this world peacefully on Saturday, April 27th, 2024 at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.
Carolyn was born in Paducah, Kentucky on February 15th, 1938 to Forrest and Audrey Pugh. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mike McFerrin (Alicia) of Crawfordsville, AR, Mark McFerrin of Marion, AR; her granddaughter, Dana Grady (Craig) and her great-grandsons, Hayden and Sam Grady of Collierville, TN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Owen Leigh, Jr.; her parents, Forrest and Audrey Pugh and a brother, Dr. Charles Pugh.
Carolyn was a lifelong Baptist and a faithful Christian woman who attended church services regularly until she lost her mobility later in life. She lived a rich life filled with simple pleasures and the many cherished moments she spent with her family.
She was retired from Hope Federal Credit Union in West Memphis. Her hobbies and interests later in life turned to her devotion and care for her many cats, a fondness for online shopping and a passion for Memphis Tiger Basketball.
Carolyn will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives she touched along the way. The family will have an intimate graveside service which will be a reflection of her humble and simple nature.
Mike, Mark & remainder of the family she was such a precious lady. My heart is with you all. Losing a parent is one of the hardest things to go through. Always remember you can look around and see her legacy and prides. You will feel her presence.

We will miss our classmate.
My Deepest Condolences and Heartfelt Prayers upon your loss.
I’m so sorry for the loss of Carolyn. My sister MaryAnn lived next door to her on North Gathings in the 60’s. She kept my Niece while her Mom was working. She was such a sweet lady, always smiling!
May our Lord be with you at this time and always. Mike, and family, I wish to send to you my most sincere condolences, and heart felt Prayers.
