Dwain J. Edwards, Jr. passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
He was born March 24, 1947 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Dwain Edwards, Sr. and Opal Hergenritter Edwards.
Dwain was a veteran of the US Air Force who worked at General Tire for 28 years. He was a fun loving and compassionate man that always loved to help people. In his early life, he was tortured by his sisters. Dwain never spoke ill of anyone. He was a gifted storyteller who liked to fish, watch westerns and camping out. He loved listening to the Beach Boys music and his favorite song of theirs was ''Wouldn't it be nice?''. He always loved talking about cars, especially a green GTO Judge and owned a White '66 Thunderbird. In his free time, Dwain loved to build model air planes and boats from all of the wars, WWI, WWII and Vietnam.
Survivors include one daughter, Patty Duncan (Keith) of Jonesboro; one step-son, Josh Scott of Searcy; one step-daughter, Rachel Johnson of Cave City; three sisters, Barbara Grissom (Danny) of Pfeiffer, Donna Heitt (John) of Batesville, Priscilla Gordon (Dennis) of Edgemont; two grandchildren, Dallas Hess (Corine), Hannah Garrett (Colton) and six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Parker, Dustin, Hayven, Collyns and Jensen.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ruby Gibbons Edwards and his second wife, Shirley Edwards.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 26, 2024 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville.

Sincere condolences on the passing of Dwain. While we have not had contact, Dwain's mother (Opal) and my mother (Kathryn) were sisters.
