James Duane Wells, 73, of Searcy, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2024. He was born December 31, 1950 in Shidler, Oklahoma to the late James Thomas and Katherine Luna Wells.

In his spare time James enjoyed woodworking, building a deck on one of his homes and watching classic movies, especially westerns, with the volume up too high. He was a millwright by trade, installing and repairing industrial equipment. James also graduated from seminary, becoming an ordained Baptist minister. He was very active in the church, going on many mission trips, including to the Philippines, Ecuador and Mexico and served as an elder for many years. He was a loving husband and father and when grandkids came along, he made sure to spoil them. James' life is an example to many of the blessings God gives to his faithful and he will be dearly missed.

James is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Deborah; three children, James H Wells and wife, Heather of Plainfield, Illinois, Katherine Hagen and husband, Daniel of Bennington, Nebraska and Christopher Wells and wife, Teagan of Judsonia, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, Faythe, Kaitlyn, James K, Colin, Anabelle, Luna, Scarlett, Thatcher and Nixon; two sisters-in-law, Donna Lamb and Dana Buchanan, as well as many other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10 AM Monday, April 22nd at Calvary Baptist Church in Searcy, Arkansas. Services are under the direction of the church.
