Bobby Gene Wright passed away on April 3, 2024 at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, Kentucky at the age of 91. He was the son of Garland and Lala Wright, who preceded him in death.
Bobby was also predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Elsa Chaney Wright; his two daughters, Patti Lynn House and Paula Jean Wright; his granddaughter, Jessica House and his siblings, Dorothy Wright Curton and Fred Wright.
He is survived by his son, Rob Wright and his wife, Maribeth of Nicholasville, Kentucky; two granddaughters, Sarah House of England, Arkansas and Emily Wright of Nicholasville, Kentucky; two grandsons, Paul House of Coy, Arkansas and Jonathan Wright of Lexington, Kentucky and three great-grandsons, Potter Ellison Wright, Miller James Wright and Wheeler Gray Wright of Lexington, Kentucky.
Born in Coy, Arkansas on August 15, 1932, Bobby was proud of the fact that he had lived almost every day of his life as a resident of that community. The only time that he was away from Coy was during his service in the United States Air Force from 1949-1953 until the summer of 2023 when he moved to Kentucky to live with his son due to his declining health. As his health continued to decline, he more recently became a resident of Thomson-Hood Veterans Center. He was a farmer from shortly after his discharge from the Air Force until his retirement. He was a member of Coy Baptist Church for many years until it disbanded and he and Elsa began attending First Baptist Church in England.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Tomberlin Cemetery in Coy, Arkansas on Saturday, April 13 at 2:00 p.m. No formal visitation will be held.
Memorials may be made to Tomberlin Cemetery Fund, P. O. Box 149, Coy, Arkansas 72037.
