Sally A. Vance, 82, a resident of Lamar passed away Monday, April 1, 2024 at her home.
She was born January 26, 1942 in Kenton, Ohio to the late Howard Guy and Deliah (Burns) Parthemore.
In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles Richard Vance; two brothers, George and Lauren Parthemore and a sister, Clara Kearns.
Sally will be remembered by her family, most importantly, as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Throughout her life she was devoted to raising her children as well as being active in her grandchildren's lives. In addition to her devotion to her family, Sally enjoyed painting, reading and taking cruises with her husband where she loved watching the ocean. In earlier years, Sally also enjoyed sewing, playing card games such as Euchre and square dancing. Sally was a member of the River Valley Grace Lutheran Church in Lamar.
Survivors include two daughters, Dawn Hawkins and husband, Mark of Lamar and Annie Garcia of Clarksville; a son, Joe Vance and wife, Laura of Louisville, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Sierra Garcia and significant other, Michael Johnson, Westley Vance and wife, Jamie, Krysten Vance, Brandy Horrell and husband, Billy, Joshua Hawkins and wife, Liz and Steven Hawkins and significant other, Vi Sanchez; 15 great grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Dills and husband, Robert of Lubbock, Texas and Wanda Carter and husband, Tim of Cridersville, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2024 at Roller-Cox Funeral Home in Clarksville. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
