Twila Jean Oliver, 93, of Searcy, AR passed away April 1, 2024. She was born on October 26, 1930 in Judsonia, AR to the late Wilbur L. and Adda Immel Oliver.
Twila graduated from Arkansas Baptist School of Nursing in 1955. She worked in the medical field for over 30 years, as an RN at Porter Rodgers Hospital and as educational director and medical records at Central Arkansas Hospital. She was Southern Baptist. Outside of work Twila enjoyed the outdoors. She camped, kept a garden and loved taking her dogs for walks. Being a good Arkansas woman, Twila loved the Razorbacks, especially the men's and women's basketball teams. She like drawing and coloring and would volunteer her time working at "The Sharing Shoppe". Twila was truly one of a kind and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, Twila is preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Oliver, Roland Oliver and W. L. Oliver Jr., as well as her friend, Eudola Nolan.
Left to cherish her memory are one brother, Larry (Patsy) Oliver; one sister, Virginia (Jerrell) Barnett; nieces and nephews, Launa Bookwalter, Brian (Laura Beth) Oliver, Dana (Shayne) Baker, Jeffrey (Marci) Barnett, Gary (Rita) Oliver and Deborah (Dennis) Ferren; many great and great great nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
A visitation will be held at 1 PM Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services at 2 PM. Interment will follow at Gum Springs Cemetery.
She held our candy striper orientation in 1978. I can still see her walking the hallways of CAGH; always had a smile!
I absolutely loved working with Twila at CAGH. Twila was always pleasant and informative, gently suggesting ways one could improve themselves. I think of her often. She will be missed and thought of fondly by all who knew her. My sincere sympathy to her family.
Twila was such a pleasant, caring nurse. She taught me so many things and I deeply appreciated her. Thank you Twila for all the things you taught so many of us at CAGH, you will be missed
I cleaned her room numerous times ar the springs of Searcy I will miss her very much she was a good kind caring person .
Twila was a wonderful nurse and a sweetheart. She will be missed.
A great caring, talented nurse that I will always remember with pleasant memories.
