Jimmie Lee ''Jim'' Rorie, was born January 18, 1933 to Alvin and Alpha (Moore) Rorie in their home In Big Springs, Arkansas. He went to be with the Lord March 15, 2024 at the age of 91 at his home in Mountain View, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family.
He was a retired carpenter, but had also been a farmer, worked in retail sales and after getting his accounting degree, he worked as an accountant in the 1960's. But he returned to being a carpenter. He always told everyone that ''He was a Carpenter just like Jesus was''. He traveled all over the US building and remodeling Pizza Huts, Sonics, Lone Star Steak Houses, Taco Bells and hotels.
He enjoyed drawing and painting, writing poetry and songs, going to church, singings and traveling all over the state of Arkansas with Chris George, going to the Masonic Lodges.
He is survived by his five children, Ronda Holt and husband, Bob of El Dorado, Kansas, James (Rusty) Rorie and wife, Cathy of Thornton, Colorado, Rockey Rorie and wife, Debra of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Misty Perry and husband, Kerry of Fox, Arkansas, Cristy Brewer and husband, Joey of Alco, Arkansas; one sister, Yvonne West; ten grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren and a multitude of other family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his wife of sixty-two years, Velma Lawrence Rorie; his parents, Alvin and Alpha (Moore) Rorie and one brother, Dale Rorie.
Pallbearers are Alex Holt, Kevin Holt, Brian Rorie, Jasen Rorie, Nick Rorie, Kody Perry, Jake Brewer and Will Brewer.
Honorary pallbearers are Dennis Feltz, Chad Brown, Chris George and Lindsey Masonic Lodge # 292.
Visitation will be Friday, March 22, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Roller Crouch Funeral Home, Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024, 2:00 PM at Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas.
Roller Crouch Funeral home has been entrusted for these arrangements.
So sad to hear of the passage of my cousin, Jim. He was a fine man in every way. I got to know him over the past few years with several wonderful visits with him at Mountain View. We shared many precious family memories together. Condolences to family and his many friends. May Jim rest in peace.

I am so sorry for your loss. Jim was a good man even though I only knew him for a short time. I will cherish his paintings he gave me. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
