of Searcy, AR
November 8, 1930 - March 13, 2024
Ann Glenn gained her heavenly reward the morning of March 13, 2024, at the age of 93. She was born and raised in Greenville, Alabama and moved to Searcy in 1975. For many years she was actively involved with her church (College Church of Christ) where she regularly enjoyed inviting college students to her home for a home-cooked meal. She also enjoyed hosting Bible studies as well. She loved to cook and was known for her delicious wheat rolls and desserts. She could frequently be seen working in her flower gardens, jogging, or riding her bicycle through her neighborhood. She loved the Lord and would often spend hours a day studying her Bible and listening to Christian radio.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; her daughter, Rachel (Steve) Rubey; her son, Paul and a grandson, Bryan Rubey. She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Baker and sons, Stephen and John (Judy); sisters, Betty Duncan and Jane Srygley; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of other nieces, nephews and friends including her best friends, Judy and Florence. Special thanks go to her long-time care-givers, Marilynn and Kim. A private family service will be held with burial to follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to College Church of Christ Missions.
I had the pleasure of witnessing such a sweet friendship between my Mom (Joanne) and Anne throughout the years - A friendship centered on Christ, and a common interests in health foods topped with much hysterical laughter. Even in the later years of Alzheimer’s, my Mom would smile and know Anne’s name. I can just hear them laughing and carrying on right now in heaven. Very sorry for your loss
Rebecca, Stephen, John…my prayers are with you and all your family during this difficult time. Miss Ann was such an inspiration to me as she was to so many others, and I will always be grateful for the time I got to spend growing up with your family!
Ann was my first cousin from Greenville AL where Our fathers were brothers. Ann was a genuine Christian lady and the world has lost a true follower of Christ!
Praying for your family. She was such a good friend and neighbor to Mom and Dad.
My heart will always hold cherished memories and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of her home and felt the warmth of her love.
We always enjoyed seeing your mom at church. Getting to spend the afternoon in her home last summer was very special! Such a beautiful, sweet, follower of Jesus!
