Harold ''Gene'' Eugene Lester, 86, of West Memphis, Arkansas, passed away on March 5, 2024, in West Memphis, Arkansas. He was born on February 18, 1938, to parents Clinton Diaz Lester and Goldie Lee Walker Lester, in Lagrange, Georgia.

Gene was of the Baptist faith and attended Grace Baptist Church. He worked in management at S.H. Kress stores for 23 years; he was self employed for 40 years. He served in the Army National Guard for 13 years. Gene loved the guitar, sports, and writing poetry. He was a true artist.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Earl Lester; and his sister, Jewel Eason.

Surviving Gene is his wife of 59 years, Linda Bolt Lester; son, Steven Eugene Lester (Michelle) of Kentucky; daughters, Donna Lynn Barnes (Bill) of Kentucky and Jan Kay Sullivan (Matt) of Florida; grandchildren, Samatha Erin Barnes, Jonathan Sullivan, Jacob Sullivan, Anna Michelle Barnes, and Kai Steven Lester; and sisters, Pat Hendrix and Marie Hester.

Services for Mr. Lester will be held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Memphis, Arkansas, on March 13, 2024. Visitation will take place in the chapel, starting at 11 AM. The funeral service will follow at 12 PM. Burial will take place at Crittenden Memorial Park, Marion, Arkansas.

Dear Linda and family, you have our sympathies regarding your sweet husband, father and grandfather. Just remember all the good times you had as a family camping and traveling.
