of Edgemont, AR
October 14, 1940 - March 5, 2024
Billy ''Bill'' J. Stacks, 83, of Edgemont, AR passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on March 5, 2024. Bill was born in Woodson, AR on October 14, 1940 to the late Griffin and Lottie Stacks.
Bill, or as most called him ''Mr. Bill'', was a friend to many, but one thing he was not, to anyone: a stranger. He did not shy away from striking up a conversation with whoever he met and was never afraid to joke around with someone. He had a genuine love for people and always wanted to make them smile. He was a happy-go-lucky kind of guy. Bill was strong, determined and never afraid of hard work. One of his favorite things to do was to simply be outside. He loved raking and burning leaves and keeping the yard in tip top shape. Baseball season was his favorite time of year. He never missed cheering on his grandson, Hunter, during his childhood games, enjoyed watching the Houston Astros and working at the Greers Ferry City Park. He was a loving father and a rock to his daughter, Michelle. He will be dearly missed by all of those he left behind.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Dona Stacks; parents, Griffin and Lottie Stacks; one brother, Morris Stacks and one sister, Brinda Stacks.
Bill is survived by his beloved daughter, Michelle Wolfe of Edgemont, AR; one special grandson, Hunter (Christina) Wolfe of Conway, AR; two precious great-grandsons, Hudson Wolfe and Elliott Wolfe who he thought the world of; one sister-in-law, Gwen (Donald) Stephens of Stuttgart, AR; one special nephew, Jeramy (Angie) Stephens and two great nephews, Connor Stephens and Jack Stephens all of Stuttgart, AR; his Lone Star Baptist Church family and many, many friends.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Lone Star Baptist Church in Greers Ferry, Arkansas. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Lone Tree Cemetery in Stuttgart, Arkansas where he will be laid to rest by his dearest wife, Dona.
