Cecil James Henry Travis, of Conway, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024 after a lengthy battle with heart disease.
Cecil was known for his love of playing the guitar and building motorcycles with his grandson, Kaden. He will be remembered for teaching his granddaughter, Baylee how to shoot. He had a love for horses like no other. He was also one of the most captivating storytellers. He cherished moments spent with his beloved Bodie and Hazel.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Rose Travis; his brother, Paul Travis; his sister, MaryAnn Travis; his children, Shay Lynn, Chris, Jennifer and Ashleigh; his cherished grandchildren, Baylee, Kaden, Hazel and Bodie; many nieces and nephews and his best friend, Reed. Cecil was preceded in death by his father, Henry Travis and mother, Jennetta Lara Rigsby Travis.
Cecil James Travis served in the Army for 14 years. Cecil also worked on a ranch in Montana, was a truck driver and retired as a business owner in the oilfield services. He will forever be honored and remembered for his dedication to his country and his unwavering commitment to his family. May his legacy live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His final request was that he be cremated and to have his ashes spread in one of his favorite places. The family will honor his life at a later date with a memorial and trail ride.
The summer of 1998 I met Cecil (Travis) as he was known I our circle.

We became friends , worked at couple of jobs together..
Swapped horses , and an old mule
Old black horse could surely buck.
Shod horses together.
Played some guitar together..
Most of all , we could really do Lunch..
He called me and let me know that he was in Conway Hospital..
Before I made it I was put in the hospital, I missed saying goodbye.
