Jimmie Anne Davis Mitchum, 81, of Batesville passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 at UAMS in Little Rock.
Jimmie Anne was born January 28, 1943 in Batesville, Arkansas to the late Jo D Buie and the late Alvin Davis. She graduated from Batesville High school in 1960. She met the love of her life, Jim ''Fireball'' Mitchum when she was 12 years old while he was a lifeguard at the City Pool. As Jim was fond of saying, they married in June and had Lynne in July. He did not add in 1962 and 1969, respectively.
Jimmie Anne and Jim approached life as a team and she accompanied him to all Arkansas College events and remained a lifelong supporter of the college. She and Jim shared a special love of a lifetime.
Jimmie Anne was a homemaker and mother, always serving as room mother, Girl Scout chauffeur, and hostess for friends and family. Snacks were waiting after school and dinner was on the table each night at six. She loved helping others and volunteered for Red Cross and Special Olympics. Jimmie Anne was a member of the Jaycees, the Chaney Huddleston Fellowship Class, and the First United Methodist Church.
Jimmie Anne had strong and thoughtful opinions and was not afraid to share those with others. She particularly enjoyed Hints from Heloise and loved to share them with others. She was known for making Christmas candy, chocolate chess pie, and was always ready to bake a birthday cake. She loved seeing others enjoy them. She loved her family and friends dearly. While Jimmie Anne excelled at being a wife and mother, her favorite role was Grammie.
Jimmie Anne led an organized life with a place for everything and everything in its place and adhered to an immutable schedule.
Monday: Peggy Day
Tuesday: Clothing Laundry Day
Wednesday: Grocery Day
Thursday: Sheets, Towels, and Blankets Laundry Day
Friday: Mama Minnie Day
Saturday: Housecleaning and Dinner at Teals with Johnny and Peggy

Lynne and family,
We can never express what a joy it was to know Jim and Jimmie Ann. They were special people and were always the same whenever and wherever you met them.
My prayers for the family. I worked for Jim at AC and therefore was friend to her and Lynn and my daughter were friends. Our Family Were at Coltons for dinner & they were next to us. We had wonderful hugs and smiles. About 2 weeks
later we visited again in Hobby Lobby & both of us had big smiles as we again visited. I told her that she was still a beautiful lady. If I saw her at Kroger she was smiling and always very neat. A wonderful lady
Lynne, I haven’t told Ayden yet. We were use to seeing Grammie during her morning walks. Ayden loved talking with her, so did I. I was late for work last Friday and I saw her walking. I stopped at the stop sign to yell Hi Grammie. I waited until she turned around. Once she realized who I was she gave the biggest smile.
Our thoughts and prayers are will the family and love you all.
Lynne, your mom was so very special, her beautiful smile and gracious ways will be missed by all who knew and loved her as much as my family loved all of you.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I have so many beautiful memories of you, your dad and your mom that I will cherish.
