Ena Maxine Kent departed this life on Monday, February 19, 2024. She was born in Hand, Arkansas on September 20, 1925 to Herman Oscar Langston and Octa Luna Russell Langston.
Maxine grew up first in Hand and then moved to Mountain Home, where she met and married Wasson Arnold Kent. Both she and Wasson contributed to the World War II defense effort by working in the Jacksonville Ordnance Plant. Later, the Kent family owned and operated the Ken Morris Shoe Store on the Mountain Home square. After retiring from business, both she and Wasson worked at Wal-Mart until their final retirement. Maxine was an active member of the First Baptist Church before moving to Hot Springs.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Wasson Arnold Kent. She is survived by her son, Terry Kent (Donna) of Hot Springs; granddaughter, Courtney Amanda Kent (Brian Henry) of Little Rock; grandson, Alexander Kerr Kent (Ashlee Nobel) of North Little Rock; great-grandchildren, Skyler Morgan Galster of Little Rock and Elijah Farr of Galster of Denver, Colorado and step-grandchildren, W. Matthew Hawk, Natalie K. Hawk, Neelie Cora Kindt and Nicholai W. Kindt.
A visitation will be held between 10-11:00am on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Roller Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at Baxter Memorial Gardens. Charitable donations to The Alzheimer's Association would be much appreciated.

There are no words to describe how wonderful this BEAUTIFUL LADY THIS WAS!!! I never saw her without her great smile. I was very honored to be part of her life. Heaven has a beautiful star in his galaxy.

Maxine was a sweet, dear lady. I always looked up to her. I worked for her at Ken Morris Shoe Store whenever she needed an extra hand. It was always a real pleasure! She surely will be missed by many. Rest in peace. I extend my love and prayers to the family.

Maxine had such a sweet and kind spirit. As I was growing up in the 1st Baptist Church in Mountain Home, she was one of the many ladies who represented Christ. What a remarkable life lived! My sympathies go out to her family. May God give you a peace which surpasses all understanding.

When I saw that pretty face I had a feeling I knew her. Then I read she worked at Wal-Mart and then I remembered her. I will never know the true number of times I had interaction with her, but it was enough for me to remember her sweet smile. I am positive I am not the only one who remembers her kindness. Loved Maxine and Was son. Worked with her and Was son both at Wal-Mart. We used to all go to West Plains on Saturday night to eat at Ryan's. They were great people.
