Butch Minyard, 76, of Batesville passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024.
He was born July 10, 1947 in Batesville to Frank and Nadine (Trench) Minyard.
Butch was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam. He was a foreman and supervisor for Ideal Bakery for 32 years and was a member of Southside Church of Christ, where he worshipped for over 50 years and upheld duties of the church. He was a very patient man of few words but when he spoke, you listened. Butch loved his family and hunting and fishing with friends, kids, and grandchildren. He also enjoyed working on his farm and taking care of his livestock.
Survivors include his loving wife, whom he married April 22, 1972, E. Ann (Jones) Minyard of the home; one son, Shane Minyard of Batesville; one daughter, April Wood of Batesville; four grandchildren, Hunter Johnson (Christin), Dakota Wood, Tessa Minyard, Kaden Wood; two great-grandchildren, Blayton Johnson, Baylor Johnson; nephew, Ronald McKinney, and brother-in-law, David McKinney.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Janie McKinney.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice.
Pallbearers are Shane Minyard, Hunter Johnson, Dakota Wood, Kaden Wood, Tyler Combee, and James Wilson. Honorary pallbearer is Paul Anderson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 2:00pm at the Roller-Crouch Chapel with Jamie Boone officiating. Burial will follow at Barnes Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12:00pm until service time.
Memorials may be made in his honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

I remember Butch when I was a young boy. We lived a few houses down from he and his mom. I recall he and Paul Anderson being best friends. A lot of water under the bridge since then. They don't come along like him very often.
