Belated condolences to Dr. Roberts’ family and friends. Bill cared for my parents in Conway over many years, and as they aged, he continued to so in ways that went far beyond what physicians are obliged or expected to do. He was a remarkable man. His work, example, and legacy are inspirations to us all. We are deeply grateful for his humanity, his sense of decency, and his profound commitment to others. May he rest in peace.

What a sad day it is for me. I thought Bill Roberts would live forever. He ate healthy, he ran healthy and he lived healthy and was two years younger than me.
I was one of his first patients when he came to Conway and was through out the years. He took care of my husband until he passed. And I was able to work with him. He was one of the best Physicians I have ever known. I will miss knowing he is there.

I have know William for as long as I can remember. William was the only boy in our neighborhood. There were 6 girls. So I became a boy to play with him sometime.
Mother would call William every time she had peas to shell. He would be right there. That was his favorite thing to do.
William took over his brother’s Camden News route. I kept on that I wanted to go with him on his route. One day he told me I could go that day. We rode our bikes. That was the longest ride. I was so tired, I never ask to go again.
We lived across the street from each other. We caught the school bus in front of his house. He was a dear friend. He will be missed.

My heart has been bothering me because I left a very important part out of my memory of Dr. Roberts!
He was always an Angel that entered the hospital rooms around 4:00 a.m. making his rounds to see his patients. You rarely hear of this today or just maybe times has changed just so much!
The other thing that made me realize how awesome he was is he made sure he had nurses around him for his patients that knew how to do their job , These women was top notch they cared for that patient, family and whatever needs at the time! While trying to make this great physicians time a little easier!
This is called surround yourself with the best people and your job will be easier! Thank you nurses and staff you served him and his patients well!
And I know from all the years that he treated mother and the kindness and care he gave me also was so precious to my heart!
So the only other thing left out is ......we can see him again one day in that place called Beulah Land!
He might be just resting in the greenest grass by a river under a tree or taking all the time he wants to laugh and talk with all his friends and family on streets of gold!
We will meet again one day Dr. Roberts when our time is called!!
My condolences to his family and close friends!
With a grateful heart,
Deb Whitley Garrett

Bill was a great physician, a true gentleman, and a wonderful friend. I had the opportunity to work with him early in my career and he helped contribute to our monthly cancer conference. After he retired, we would go out to lunch every Tuesday and Thursday and dine at Mike's Place rain or shine. Not only was he my personal physician but he was a true friend and a mentor. I will truly miss him and our time together. Thank you Bill for your help, guidance, and friendship over the years. I will never forget you.
Love,
Dr. I

To the family of Dr. “. Billl “ Robert’s my heart felt condolences to all , Dr Robert’s was such a blessing to me as I started out in the cardiology field , I learned so much from , him but as a Man he held every one to a standard they could achieve and help you meet those goals, as a Dr with heart I seen him shed a couple of tears when he told me that my husband that he treated for yrs only had a few weeks to live, He didn’t care about what insurance people had or didn’t have , a baked pie was a good enough payment, he is one of the few I would be at the hospital at what ever time because I knew he would beat me there by 30 min, I’ll never forget his funny little laugh , and his braided Long tail that he let grow out and would only cut for one reason ! Love ?? u Dr. Bill

My condolences to Dr. Roberts family. He was such a caring and giving gentlemen. I had the privilege of working with him in CVICU at Conway Regional. He would come by every morning at 0600 to read EKG's and I worked the night shift so it was coming to the end of my shift. At first I would say "Good morning Dr. Roberts" and he wouldn't say much but over the years he would stop and talk each morning. He became a friend. I respected him so much. He was an excellent doctor. May you rest in God's peace Dr. Roberts.

I had the privilege of working with Dr. Roberts and some of his patients in the hospital setting for 18 years. He was always very particular about the care of his patients and he always put them first. I learned a lot from him. I watched him spend many a night in the hospital so he could be close if needed. He really helped a lot of people. He will be greatly missed.

I am so sorry for your loss, I met Bill Roberts 47 years ago at CRMC. His life was patient first no matter whose feet he stepped on, it didn’t matter. After we met my goal was to earn his respect as a nurse which I did. The knowledge he presented was nothing like any other physician I was working with. He had my upmost respect. Before he and Betty were married he lectured us in the ER one night, after we loss a patient on how to survive at nursing because tears were running down our face. I will never forgot his words, he was correct I did survive 47 years following his advice. Cannot say enough about his knowledge his kindness and his love for Betty and his step daughters. Prayers, condolences for all.

I knew Bill for 37 years. He was an astute clinician and a caring friend. I always enjoyed sharing patient care with him. He was a bedrock on the hospital staff, always thinking of patients first. I am proud to have served on many committees with him and I learned more from him than I can say. After he retired we enjoyed trips, sports and meals together with him and with his late wife Betty. I loved Bill and will miss him very much; so will the community. Conway has lost one of its best.
