William Doyle Link, age 87, of Flippin, Arkansas passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024 at home with family by his side. Doyle was born June 10, 1936 in Rush, Arkansas to the late Bill and Hettie Linck.
In 1948 he, his dad and one sister were baptized and became members of the Flippin Christian Church. He was a dedicated member and Elder in this church. After graduating from high school in 1954, Doyle spent the next 20 years serving in the United States Navy, retiring in 1973 as Chief Petty Officer. While in the Navy he learned to fly, using his GI bill to get his advanced ratings. Upon retiring from the Navy his passion for flying led him to pursue a business as a charter pilot and also corporate pilot. Over a period of several years he managed FBO's at Flippin, Harrison and Baxter County, where he became a true pioneer in aviation. Over the years he trained many pilots and later became an FAA pilot examiner, certifying new and advanced aviators.
For the past 19 years Doyle has volunteered for Kindness, an organization that transports individuals unable to drive themselves to doctor's appointments, shopping, etc. He enjoyed very much being able to help local citizens and the friends he made along the way. He and Marvell also were volunteers at Baxter Regional Hospital.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Marvell; two sons, Ed Linck of Panama City, Florida, Kevin Linck (Andrea) of Mountain Home; six grandchildren, Chad Linck (Mallory) of Nixa, Missouri, Jocie Newsom (Andrew) of Rogers, Jessica Linck of Hot Springs, Kala Elkinton (Zach) of Kansas City, Missouri, Courtney Eakins of Houston, Texas; Cody Doyle Linck of Mountain Home; eight great-grandchildren, Corban, Cameron, Reese and Riley Linck, Eli Newsom, Max and Ty Eakins, Jase Linck; two stepdaughters, Regina (Ronnie) Fears, Deborah (Mark) Johnson all of Mountain Home; four step-grandchildren, Nicole (Brady) McKee, Daniel (Amanda) Cunningham all of Mountain Home, Amanda (Heath) Lindsey of Norfork, Luke Fears of Mountain Home; seven great step-grandchildren, Sophia and Liam McKee, Makayla and Rayden Cunningham, Mya, Noah and Taylor Lindsey and two sisters, Sylvia (Bill) Cunningham of Springfield, Missouri and Linda Swaters of Flippin.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; his late wife, Shirley Cunningham Linck and son, Dennis Linck.
Visitation will be 10:00 - 11:00 am Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Flippin Christian Church in Flippin.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Flippin Christian Church.
Interment will follow at Flippin Cemetery in Flippin.
Pallbearers will be Cody Linck, Chad Linck, Jeff Swaters, Andrew Newsom, Larry Schumucker and Eric Watson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gregg Alexander, Ron Proctor, Leroy Beavers, Gene Frazier, Chuck Bailey and David Baker.

Kimberly and I are deeply saddened by the loss of Uncle Doyle. What a great man! The embodiment of patience. I cannot recall a cross word from him...ever. I will miss him so. They were so good to my father. (Al Gibson) and Doyle was so good to call and keep me updated as well as came to hospital every morning to pray for dad and myself.

I was a cousin of Doyle and grew up with him and his family. When my mother (Lorene Ott) was alive, Doyle volunteered to be the first contact on my mother's medical alert, and I have always been grateful to him for that. He was a kind, supportive member of The Christian Church and cared for my parents as though they were his own. He will be greatly missed!
